A Kashmiri Hand-Painted Papier-Mâché Jar, c.1900

Finely decorated in the traditional naqashi technique, the rounded body enamelled with vivid floral roundels framed by gilt chinar leaf scrollwork, the lid similarly adorned and retaining its original yellow lacquered interior. A charming example of late-19th-century Srinagar craftsmanship.
