A decorative pair of 19th century bronze dolphin supports in the classical revival taste, inspired by ancient Roman marine motifs popularised during the Grand Tour period.

Each dolphin is finely modelled with arched body, stylised scales and bifurcated tail, rising from stepped mahogany bases. The bronzes retain a warm, deep brown patina with natural tonal variation. Original green baize remains to the undersides.

The elegant curvature of the bodies creates a natural horizontal rest, allowing the pair to function as paperweights, desk supports, or as sculptural elements beneath a specimen marble bar or small architectural fragment.

Decorative, sculptural and highly versatile, equally suited to a classical desk, library table or cabinet display.
