Indian repoussé brass vases

A highly decorative pair of Indian repoussé brass vases, circa 1900.

Each of baluster form, the bodies richly worked in high relief with oval figural panels depicting Krishna, separately applied in copper and set against a densely chased foliate ground. The tonal contrast between the darker copper panels and the burnished brass bodies gives considerable depth and visual richness.

Hand-raised and finely finished throughout, with consistent detail across both vases.
